Caltech Recording Studio
Information
The Caltech Recording Studio is located in Club Room 1 of the Winnett Student Center. The studio has some of the best equipment available, including ADAT's, digital mixer, and high quality microphones. Click here for a complete list of equipment. Click here to view some pictures of the studio. The Studio computer contains Pro-Tools Digital recording software. In addition, the Finale software package is available if you would like to use the studio as a composer's workstation.
Rules
The studio is not to be used for rehearsals or to "jam". (You can use the Caltech Jam Room for those purposes.) It is to be used as a recording studio only. (Exceptions to the above may be given to members of the Caltech Bands who are taking band for credit.) Of course, if you use the equipment, you are responsible for keeping it in good condition and the room clean so the next group to use it will enjoy the facility.
You'll need to get the key for Club Room 1 from Cathy Miles, the Performing Arts Administrative Assistant. She will have you sign for the key. You will need to return the key ASAP after using the studio. Any delay in returning the key will result in forfeiture of use of the studio.
If you need someone to engineer your project, Mike can arrange that for you.
Please check out the contact page if you have any suggestions regarding the use of the Caltech Recording Studio.
